Melbourne

Melbourne District is a central metropolitan electorate covering 34 square kilometres. It includes the suburbs of Carlton, Carlton North, Parkville, Flemington, Kensington, West Melbourne, East Melbourne, North Melbourne and Newmarket, Ascot Vale, Travancore and parts of Melbourne (the area north of the Yarra).

The centre of Melbourne’s business district and densely populated residential areas, Royal Park, the Zoological Gardens, Royal Park Golf Course, Princes Park, the MCG, the Fitzroy Gardens, Parliament House, the new Museum of Victoria, Melbourne University, the Victorian Dockyards, the Queen Victoria Market, Flemington Racecourse and the Commonwealth Serum Laboratories.
